Accessibility

ReserveBeat has not been independently audited for accessibility and claims no conformance level. This page states what has been built into the site and what has not been done, so a reader can judge it themselves rather than take a badge on faith.

Keyboard

Every page begins with a skip link, hidden until it takes focus, that jumps past the navigation to the main content — the board home puts a nine-column sortable table behind the header, and that link is how a keyboard reader gets past it. The main landmark takes focus when the link is used. Navigation, links, form fields and the theme control's radio buttons are ordinary focusable elements reached in document order with Tab, and the controls drawn from the site's component library carry a visible focus ring.

Reduced motion

The site honours the operating system's reduced-motion setting. With it on, animations and transitions on the public pages are cut to effectively zero, including the slide of the mobile navigation panel and the fade of the header's menus, which then open and close at once. No chart on the site animates at any setting.

Page structure

Each page carries exactly one first-level heading, and renders its header, main content and footer as real landmarks rather than styled containers. The single-heading rule is enforced by a test that renders each page and fails the build when a second one appears, so it is a property of the site rather than a habit.

Without JavaScript

The pages are rendered on the server. With JavaScript turned off every navigation link is still a plain link in the page (on wide screens the grouped menus open on hover and on keyboard focus), the theme control is hidden rather than left inert, and the figures, tables and source links are all present.

What has not been done

No independent accessibility audit has been carried out, and none is scheduled. No automated accessibility check runs on every change. No conformance level, such as WCAG 2.2 AA, is claimed. Colour contrast, screen-reader behaviour and zoom have not been tested systematically, and the site has not been tried with assistive technology by anyone who depends on it. Nothing on this page should be read as a statement of conformance.

Report a barrier

If a page on this site is unusable with the tools you use, write to {contact@reservebeat.com} with the page address and what happened. A report that the site cannot be used is handled the same way as a report that a figure is wrong. Report incorrect data
